Battery-powered devices are widely used in all industrial segments - with data loggers, remote controls, sensors being the most typical. The challenge is to design devices with low consumption and high performance.
To fulfill this need, manufacturer are continually developing new products, in particular microcontrollers, specifically designed for low power application. Yet, using these components does not guarantee true low power performance. To obtain good results a designer must implement a "low-power strategy": in-depth knowledge of the components, careful design of schematic and PCB, development of specialised firmware are among the most important steps.
M.d.C. Technology can offer to you, our Customer, a good and operative experience of low power development:
- Selection of specific low-power components (for example AVR Picopower or AVR32 L- series)
- Development of "extreme firmware", optimised for maximum power reduction
- Preliminary analysis with SPICE modeling and simulations
- High-precision laboratory equipment, to obtain effective and precise measures.
